Conviction

Crucified beneath the statue of a lie
Well I wont be taking the blame
I wont be the martyr this time
I've been a little busy, maybe more than I should
But you can't just burn me down
For coulda, woulda, might do

And I know what they say, when my back is turned
You can turn it all around, but what really hurts
Is that you took forgiveness for granted, and me too
Because I'm not the problem, no the problem is you

Hands held high as we pray for death
You know that's not the normal consensus
But here's whats left, you see
It wasn't what I did because I didn't
But what did you, if you had it lined up so easy
What've you been up to

And I know what they say, when my back is turned
You can turn it all around, but what really hurts
Is that you took forgiveness for granted, and me too
Because I'm not the problem, no the problem is you

Joy for the jury that I never had
And for the executioner with the knife in my back
Because you can spend your days tryina be a better man
But you'll never outrun your past cause no one gives a damn
So joy for the jury that I'll never get
And for the right words that I don't have, that will remain unsaid
Because you can spend your days tryina tell me what I am
But you'll never understand cause you don't give a damn

Cause it ain't about the actions or the truth
Its about right and wrong, and one never fits you
So thank you to my jury, all one of you
Its about right and wrong and one never fits you
